Alfred Bamer
Alfred Bamer (born January 11, 1917 in St. Marien ; † December 15, 1982 in Vienna ) was an Austrian composer and church musician .
Life
Bamer studied from 1936 to 1938 at the Philosophical-Theological Diocesan College in Linz and from 1938 to 1940 at the universities in Innsbruck and Vienna ( law ). He received his musical training from Joseph Kronsteiner and Franz Xaver Müller , among others, and in 1932 he became organist at the student chapel in the Petrinum in Linz . From 1946 he was choir director and organist of the Carmelite Church in Vienna. From 1947 he was secretary of the diocesan commission for church music of the Archdiocese of Vienna . He worked as a conductor of church music performances on ORF , as a theory and organ teacher at the Diocesan Conservatory for Church Music of the Archdiocese of Vienna and editor of the Singing Church . He is buried in the Döblinger Friedhof (20-8-12) in Vienna.
