Alfred Bayer (born February 10, 1859 in Karlsbad , † March 3, 1916 ibid) was a German-Bohemian architect and builder who worked in Vienna and Karlsbad (now Karlovy Vary). His buildings are designed in the style of historicism and the Vienna Secession .

Act

He was born as the son of the police officer Michael Bayer and his wife Barbara, b. Nasler, born in Karlsbad. After attending school in Karlsbad, he graduated from the Holzminden building trade school . He then studied at the Polytechnic in Prague with Josef Zítek . In Karlovy Vary he was involved in the construction of the Mill Colonnade by the architect Josef Zítek. In 1887/88 he passed the master builder examination and received the master builder license. He then worked from 1888 to 1910 as an architect and site manager at the Fellner & Helmer architectural office in Vienna. During this time he led the construction of the Volksoper Vienna and the Raimundtheater in Vienna as well as the construction of the city theater in Aussig (Ústí nad Labem). From 1911 he ran a construction firm in Karlsbad and carried out numerous buildings in Karlsbad. As a city architect, he was also a member of the City Council for Construction in Karlovy Vary.
