Alfred Stern (philosopher)
Alfred Stern (born July 19, 1899 in Baden near Vienna , † January 31, 1980 in San Juan , Puerto Rico ) was an Austrian-American philosopher.
Life
Alfred Stern holds a PhD in Philosophy and was Professor at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena , the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez .
His best known work is Philosophy of Laughing and Weeping .
