Alfred Vokt

Alfred Vökt ( May 21, 1926 in Basel - June 14, 1999 ibid) was a Swiss opera and concert singer ( tenor ).

Life

First he studied law at the University of Basel and received his doctorate in this subject in 1955. In addition, he was trained in singing by Ernst Reiter.

From 1955 to 1957 he was a choir member of the Basel Theater . This was followed by employment at the municipal theaters of Oberhausen (1958–1959), at the city ​​theater in Gießen (1959–1960), at the theaters of the state capital Kiel (1960–1962), at the state theater in Kassel (1962–1965), at the municipal theaters in Dortmund ( 1965–1968) and most recently at the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt am Main (1968–1992).

He has also made guest appearances in Bordeaux, at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg, at the Edinburgh Festival, at the Hamburg State Opera, at the Théâtre Musical de Paris, in Toulouse and at the Theater an der Wien .
