The Algars at Arens de Lledó

The Algars rises east of Beceite in the province of Tarragona on the slopes of the Ports de Tortosa-Beseit below the Mont Caro and after a short walk it forms the border between Aragón and Catalonia and at the same time the comarcas Terra Alta and Matarraña , which it only takes a few kilometers leaves again before its mouth, runs past Arnes , Lledó and Arens de Lledó , in the last section on Aragonese territory in the Franja de Aragón , and flows into the Matarraña at Nonaspe .

Tributaries

The tributaries of the algar are insignificant apart from the source streams. At most, the Riu d'Estrets should be mentioned as a right-hand tributary above Lledó.

fauna

The river stands out for its population of otters .
