Ali Osman Öztürk

Ali Osman Öztürk (born January 5, 1960 in Ordu , Turkey ) is a Turkish folklorist and philologically oriented song researcher. He was a professor at Onsekiz Mart University Çanakkale , Turkey; since 2012 he has been a professor at Konya Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi in Konya , Turkey.

Life

Growing up in Ordu (on the Black Sea coast in north-eastern Turkey), Öztürk studied German and pedagogy in Ankara (with Wilfried Buch and Vural Ülkü). He received his doctorate in Konya in 1990 with Wilfried Buch and Otto Holzapfel in Freiburg im Breisgau (The German and Turkish folk song as a linguistic work of art , unpublished Folksong as a linguistic work of art ”published); The habilitation took place in Ankara in 1994 (Alman Oryantalizmi. 19. Popüler Alman Sanatında Türk Motifi, Ankara 2000). For twenty years he was a lecturer and lecturer for German language and German literature in Konya. In 2002 he joined the Faculty of Education at Onsekiz Mart University in Çanakkale , where he headed the Foreign Language Institute . Öztürk published the academic journal Selçuk Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakanschesi Edebiyat Dergisi between 1997 and 2001 . Since 2013 he has been chairman of the Turkish Association of Germanists GERDER and is managing editor for GERDER of the internet magazine DİYALOG: magazine for intercultural German studies .
