Alien Tornado is an American science fiction film released in 2012 . The television film was directed by director Jeff Burr .

action

The widowed Judd Walker lives with his daughter Kelly on his farm near Chicago . One day a tornado rages in the village, which is accompanied by strangely glowing lightning bolts. But not only there this strange phenomenon appears, a large number of these tornadoes are sighted, as storm researcher Gail Curtis learns from 132 e-mails .

Gail contacts Denise Gordon, an avid reader of her blog . When one of the extraordinary tornadoes occurs again, Gail and Denise set out on its hunt. Meanwhile, Judd, who is picking up Kelly, is pushed off the road by a black government vehicle on the way to the tornado. The storm focuses on the power station, where everyone comes together. It turns out that the occupants of the government vehicle are National Security agents around Federal Agent Armstrong and are not open to foreign investigations. Apparently the tornadoes are always focused on public facilities.

Nevertheless, the four investigate together with Sheriff Norm Mackey. Kelly, also a big fan of Gail, plays her an unknown radio signal that she recorded during the last tornado. After a strong initial distrust of Gail, Judd slowly approaches the attractive woman and supports her. Another tornado, which obviously also has strong electromagnetic side effects, claims Denise's life. Gail transmits the radio signal to his friend, code specialist Barney, to find out more. After he announced that the same radio signal was received from space as early as 1977 within the SETI program and that the tornadoes are now deliberately razing localities to the ground, it is obvious that everything has an extraterrestrial origin.

In a television station in Chicago they want to send a radio signal, to which the tornadoes react and thus put an end to the storms. Agent Armstrong tells them that it is an alien life form without a body, i.e. consisting of pure energy. Kelly can decipher the structure of the signal and therefore create one that will stop the storms. In dramatic moments, when countless tornadoes destroy Chicago, Kelly's signal makes the storms disappear instantly.

Kelly later got a scholarship from a university in Malaysia , and Judd and Gail became a couple.

Reviews

“Conventional direct-to-video computer storm with a little more extraterrestrial involvement than usual, but which is mostly talked about rather than much. Over long stretches, the viewer follows the usual disaster film strands, such as the conflict of competence between the military and science, as well as a large area of father-daughter conflict. B-movie veterans Jeff Fahey and Kari Wuhrer are the stars of the solid pastime for viewers of the genre. "

“The film blew my cheeks in vain: cheaply tricked, played powerlessly and a story like a mild breeze. Hardly stirs up dust as a film. "
