Alina Meier (born February 19, 1996 ) is a Swiss cross-country skier .

Career

Meier took part in U18 and U20 races in the Alpencup from 2012 to 2016 and finished fifth in the U20 overall ranking in the 2015/16 season. At the Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , she ran to 29th place in the sprint, 27th place over 5 km classic and fifth place with the relay. The following year she came in at the Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty on 34th place over 5 km freestyle, on 22nd place in the skiathlon and on the sixth place with the relay. Her best placements at the 2016 Junior World Ski Championships in Râșnov were sixth in the sprint and fifth in the relay. In December 2016, she completed her first race in the Alpine Cup in Goms , finishing 22nd in the 10 km mass start race and 20th in the sprint. At the U23 World Championships in 2017 in Soldier Hollow , she came 29th in 10 km freestyle, 26th in sprint and 15th in skiathlon. She made her debut in the World Cup in March 2017 in Drammen , which she finished in 55th place in the sprint. At the U23 World Championships in Goms in 2018 , he achieved 24th place over 10 km in classic and skiathlon and ninth place in sprint. In the 2018/19 season she reached the 15th place in the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup with four top ten placements. At the U23 World Championships in Lahti in 2019 , she finished 41st in the 15 km mass start race and 14th in the sprint. In December 2019 she got her first World Cup points in Planica with the 24th place in the sprint.

She won the Swiss championships in 2016 in Sparenmoos with the relay from Davos and in 2018 in Steg over 5 km classic.
