Leonhard Dering (* 1991 in Tomsk ) is a German-Russian pianist .

education
Leonhard Dering was born in Tomsk into a family of German, Russian and Latvian origin and grew up in Coburg . Here his first piano teacher was the Neuhaus student Alla Schatz . He later studied in Lev Natochenny's piano master class at the HfMDK in Frankfurt am Main and in September 2019 completed a master's degree at the Lucerne School of Music with the pianist Konstantin Lifschitz .

Concerts have taken Leonhard Dering to EU countries , Switzerland , Ukraine , Russia , to concert venues such as the Philharmonie im Gasteig , Odeonsplatz and Residenz Munich , Salon Christophori Berlin, Mousonturm Frankfurt am Main , Amstelkerk Amsterdam, Gare du Nord Basel - and to festivals including the Donaueschinger Musiktage , the Beethovenfest Bonn , the International May Festival Wiesbaden, MusikWerk Luzern, Festival Mas i Mas Barcelona, Piano Loop Festival Split.
Recordings with him were broadcast by Deutschlandfunk Kultur , BR-Klassik , hr2-Kultur , SWR , Radio SRF 2 Kultur , NDR Kultur , MDR-Fernsehen , hr-fernsehen and 3sat .
In November 2019 Dering made his debut as a soloist with the Hessian State Orchestra in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden with the 1st piano concerto by Dmitri Shostakovich and the Concertino for trumpet, piano and orchestra by André Jolivet .
As a chamber music partner, he has played with trumpeter Paul Hübner, clarinetist Shelly Ezra, saxophonist Veronika Kozhuharova, pianist Konstantin Lifschitz , Benjamin Engeli , Michael Leslie, Alexander Maria Wagner, the Eliot Quartet , and countertenor Andreas Scholl .
In April 2019 he played in Copenhagen the world premiere of his piano cycle devoted Four Lilith Valses by Marcela Lucatelli . As a pianist, he works with the composers - Jagoda Szymtka , Elnaz Seyedi, Marcela Lucatelli, Óscar Escudero. The collaboration with directors - Thom Luz , Willy Praml , Jan Philipp Stange - and actors - Graham F. Valentine - led to musical theater productions at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , Staatstheater Mainz , Nationaltheater Mannheim , Schauspielhaus Zürich , Theater Basel . In 2017 he was invited to the 54th Berlin Theatertreffen with the Mainz Ensemble and played at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele .
Dering is artistic director of the Naxos Hall Concerts in Frankfurt and co-founder of the Höri Musiktage Bodensee festival.
