Jagoda Szmytka

Jagoda Szmytka (* 1982 in Legnica ) is a Polish composer .

biography

Szmytka studied art history and philosophy at the University of Wroclaw from 2000 to 2005 . From 2004 to 2007 he studied music theory and composition with Krystian Kiełb and Cezary Duchnowski at the Karol Lipiński Music Academy in Wroclaw . From 2007 to 2012 postgraduate studies in composition with Pierluigi Billone , Beat Furrer and Wolfgang Rihm at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz , the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main and the University of Music Karlsruhe .

The ensembles that interpret Szmytka's compositions include Ensemble Garage, ensemble mosaik, Ensemble Interface, Ensemble recherche , European Workshop for Contemporary Music, E-MEX Ensemble, Duo leise dröhnung, Kwartludum, Ensemble l'arsenale, Ensemble Besides u. a. Her works have been shown at the Warschauer Herbst , Wien Modern , the Lucerne Festival , the Eclat Festival Stuttgart, the Ultrasound Berlin Festival, the Darmstadt Summer Courses , the Musica Polonica Nova, the Rheinsberger Musiktage, the Deutschlandfunk Cologne , the ZKM Karlsruhe , the Polish National Opera on Teatr Wielki Warsaw and the Moscow Philharmonic played.

Jagoda Szmytka lives in Frankfurt am Main .
