Johannes von Tischendorf

Johannes Albert Alexander von Tischendorf (born June 3, 1850 in Leipzig ; † May 30, 1923 ibid) was a German lawyer and President of the Senate at the Imperial Court .

Life

Origin and family

Tischendorf was a son of the theologian Constantin von Tischendorf (1815–1874) from his marriage to Angelika Zehme (1822–1905). The diplomat Paul Andreas von Tischendorf (1847-1914) was his brother and the painter Angelika von Tischendorf (1858-1917) his sister.

Since October 3, 1898, Tischendorf was married to Josephine von Teichman and Logischen (1865-1944), daughter of Lieutenant General Arved von Teichman and Logischen (1829-1898), in their second marriage.

career

After his studies and doctorate as Dr. jur. et phil. Tischendorf became district judge at the district court in Leipzig in 1881 . In 1888 he became a Councilor in Reichsjustizamt in Berlin appointed. In 1890 he became a Privy Councilor and Lecturing Council and in 1897 a Secret Upper Government Councilor. In 1907 he became an Imperial German Real Secret Upper Government Council with the rank of First Class Council.

In 1912 he was appointed as the successor to Gustav Kaufmann (1842-1919) as President of the 5th Criminal Senate at the Imperial Court in Leipzig. As such, he was appointed to the Royal Prussian Real Secret Council in 1917 with the title of Excellency . In 1921 he retired.

Tischendorf was co-editor of the Deutsche Juristen-Zeitung .
