Arved Guido Sylvius Fedor Theodor von Teichman and Logischen (born April 11, 1829 in Freyhan , Militsch district , † January 18, 1898 in Berlin ) was a royal Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Teichman was a son of the lord of the minority rule Freyhan Moritz von Teichman and Logischen (1790-1845) from his second marriage to Antoinette Otto (1805-1841).

Military career

Teichman began his military career in a cadet corps of the Prussian Army . In 1847 he was assigned to the 8th Artillery Brigade as second lieutenant and attended the United Artillery and Engineering School in Charlottenburg from 1847 to 1849 .

After his appointment as an officer, Teichman was educator and teacher of Princes Hermann (1829-1884) and Alexander (1831-1905) zur Lippe, as well as the Prince of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen .

In 1853 Teichman became a member of the Artillery Revision Commission in Deutz and in 1854 he was assigned to the gun foundry before he became an educator at the cadet house in Berlin. In 1855 he became a director officer and teacher at the United Artillery and Engineering School in Charlottenburg. In 1858 he was promoted to prime lieutenant and in 1860 to captain .

In 1861 he became company commander of the 1st Sea Artillery Company of the Prussian Sea Battalion in Kiel , in 1865 company commander in the foot artillery regiment "von Dieskau" (Silesian) No. 6 in Glatz and in 1866 the field artillery regiment "Generalfeldmarschall Graf Waldersee" (Schleswigsches) No. 9 in Rendsburg as a member of the artillery examination commission à la suite . In 1868 he traveled to England for several months to try shooting. After his return, Teichman became battery chief in the field artillery regiment "von Holtzendorff" (1st Rheinisches) No. 8 in Koblenz and was employed as head of the regiment's training department during the Franco-German War .

In 1871, Teichman was promoted to major . He was commander of the foot artillery regiment "Encke" (Magdeburgisches) No. 4 in Magdeburg and as such promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1877 and to colonel in 1881 . In 1884 he became the commander of the 1st Foot Artillery Brigade in Berlin.

In 1887, Teichman was promoted to major general and a member of the Study Commission for the Military Schools and the Artillery Examination Commission for Officers. He also became inspector of the 1st Foot Artillery Inspection in Berlin, the General Artillery Committee and the Higher Military Study Commission.

In 1889 Teichman was promoted to lieutenant general and put up for disposition on application in 1890 .

Awards

Teichman was a Knight of Honor of the Order of St. John and holder of the Order of the Red Eagle 2nd Class with Oak Leaves and the Iron Cross 2nd Class.

family

In 1858 he married Selma von Winterfeld (1832-1920), daughter of August Albrecht von Winterfeld (1793-1860).

Of his children, Maria (1860–1945) married the Royal Prussian Lieutenant General Georg von Sausin (1842–1927), Emma (1861–1938) married the sugar factory and estate owner in Domersleben Robert Lömpcke (1856–1922), Josephine (1865–1944) ) the President of the Senate at the Imperial Court in Leipzig, Johannes von Tischendorf (1850–1923). The son Hans (1864–1933) became a royal Prussian colonel and was married to Margarethe Noeldechen (1869–1966), a daughter of the Prussian House of Representatives Ferdinand Noeldechen (1818–1876).
