Konstantin Lifschitz
Konstantin Lifschitz (born December 10, 1976 in Charkow ) is a Russian pianist of Jewish descent.
Career
Lifschitz came to the Gnessin Institute in Moscow when he was five . Tatjana Zelikman was his most important teacher. At the age of 13 he gave his first concert in the House of Trade Unions (Moscow) , which was enthusiastically received. For the exam (1994) he played the Goldberg Variations , Gaspard de la nuit and works by Scriabin . His teachers were Theodor Gutman , Vladimir Tropp , Karl-Ulrich Schnabel , Fou Ts' ong , Alfred Brendel , Leon Fleisher , Rosalyn Tureck , Hamish Milne and Charles Rosen . Lifschitz did not take part in a single piano competition.
After perestroika he began to perform in European music centers. He has given concerts with major orchestras all over the world, including the Solisti Veneti , the MDR Symphony Orchestra , the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields , the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz , the Konzerthausorchester Berlin , the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg , the Minnesota Orchestra , the Bern Symphony Orchestra , the London Symphony , the Chicago Symphony , the New York Philharmonic and the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic . The conductors were Andrey Boreyko , Bernard Haitink , Eliahu Inbal , Marek Janowski , Michail Wladimirowitsch Jurowski , Eri Klas , Fabio Luisi , Neville Marriner , Claudio Scimone , Juri Chatujewitsch Temirkanow , Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau , Mstislaw Leopoldowitsch Rostropowitsch .
He gives master classes all over the world and has been teaching his own class at the Lucerne School of Music since 2008 . He lives near Lucerne .

He plays chamber music with string quartets and soloists such as Gidon Kremer , Dmitri Sitkowetski , Patricia Kopatchinskaja , Leila Josefowicz , Mischa Maisky , Lynn Harrell , Carolin Widmann , Bella Davidovich , Valery Afanassiev , Natalia Gutman , Jörg Widmann , Sol Gabetta , Alexei Wolodin , Daishin Kashimoto , Maxim Vengerov , Rostropowitsch († 2007) and Eugene Ugorski (* 1989).
