Aline Hoffmann-Rossier

Aline Hoffmann-Rossier (* 15. March 1856 in Amiens ( Somme ); † 10. November 1920 in Geneva ; heimatberechtigt ibid ) was a Swiss writer from the Canton of Geneva .

Life

Aline Rossier was a daughter of Louis Rossier, pastor , and Anne de Visme. She married the pastor Adolf Hoffmann. She grew up in Lucens and attended an institute in Winterthur . From 1882 Hoffmann ran a boarding school for girls in Geneva. She was active in literature . From 1903 Hoffmann published stories , often under the name of Frau Adolf Hoffmann. She was best known for her instruction books for young women. In 1907 she was co-founder and until 1919 first president of the Association genevoise pour le suffrage féminin . She worked in the moral movement and in the Ligue de Femmes suisses contre l'Alcoolisme . Hoffmann-Rossier pursued a pacifist engagement in the Women's World Federation to promote international harmony.
