Alireza Haghighi ( Persian علیرضا حقیقی, DMG ʿAlīreżā Ḥaqīqī ; * May 2, 1988 in Tehran ) is an Iranian soccer player .
Club career
Persepolis Tehran
Haghighi began his professional career at Persepolis Tehran , for whose first team he made his debut on October 17, 2006 in the game against Saipa . He came on after being sent off for goalkeeper Farshad Karimi . In the 2008/09 season he became the club's first goalkeeper after the other two goalkeepers were injured. He was able to maintain this regular position beyond the season and became the club's youngest captain of all time in the 2010/11 season.
Stations in Europe
In January 2013 Haghighi signed a four-year contract with Rubin Kazan , making it the first Iranian goalkeeper in European professional football. In Russia , however, he could not assert himself and was loaned to his old club for half a year. Back in Tehran, he was unable to re-establish himself and only made three appearances in the AFC Champions League . After the loan expired, he initially returned to Russia, but was loaned back directly to SC Covilhã in February 2014 . In the second Portuguese league he prevailed again as a goalkeeper and came to twelve missions.
National team
After Haghighi various youth national teams of Iran had gone through, he came on October 5, 2011 on his debut in the senior team when he at 7: 0 victory in a friendly against Palestine played a half. On June 1, 2014, national coach Carlos Queiroz appointed him to Iran's squad for the World Cup in Brazil . He completed all three preliminary round matches. In 2016 he was fired from the national team because he had been without a club for a few months.
