Aljona Evgenjewna Aschtscheulowa ( Russian Алёна Евгеньевна Ащеулова ; born March 1, 1988 ) is a Russian natural track tobogganist . So far, she has started in three World Cup races and, in addition to international junior championships, took part in one world and two European championships .

Career

Aljona Aschtscheulowa began tobogganing on natural track in 1998. She had her first international appearance at the 2003 Junior European Championship in Kreuth , where she finished 15th. In the next two years she took part in the junior championships as well as in the world and European championships as well as a world cup race. At the Junior World Championships 2004 in Kindberg she achieved 14th place and at the Junior European Championships 2005 in Kandalakscha, eleventh place. At the 2004 European Championships in Hüttau , she came in 22nd place out of 26 women tobogganers and 13th out of 19 women in the 2005 World Championships in Latsch . In the World Cup she took part in the 2003/2004 season in Moscow , which she finished in ninth place, and in the 2004/2005 season in the Latzfons race, where she finished 14th. The next winter she only took part in the Junior World Championship 2006 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where she was ninth.

In the next few years Ashtheulova took part in international competitions only rarely. At the end of the 2008/2009 season she started again in a World Cup race in Novouralsk and achieved eighth place out of 13 rated female luge runners. Three years later she took part in the 2012 European Championships in Novouralsk, where she came in sixth.
