Alke Martens

Alke Martens (born June 15, 1970 in Hildesheim ) is a German computer scientist and university lecturer .

Life

After graduating from high school in Hildesheim in 1989, she studied computer science at the University of Hildesheim until 1997 . This was followed by positions as a research assistant from 1997 to 1998 at the Hannover Medical School , from 1998 to 2001 at the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Ulm and in the Computer Science Department at the Ulm University of Applied Sciences and from 2001 to 2007 at the Chair of Modeling and Simulation at the University of Rostock . There she received her doctorate to become a Dr.-Ing. with the dissertation A tutoring process model for case-based intelligent tutoring systems .

In 2007 Martens accepted a junior professorship for e-learning and cognitive systems at the University of Rostock. After a successful interim evaluation in 2010, it was followed in 2011 a call to the professor of computer science and its didactics at the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd before 2013 as Professor of Practical computer science returned to the University of Rostock. At the PH in Schwäbisch Gmünd she was Vice Rector for Research and International Relations.

Martens deals with computer science didactics , game-based learning, digital learning games , serious games, educational games as well as teaching / learning systems and their simulation.

In her spare time Martens wrote the fantasy novel AnWel.
