Allophylus aldabricus is a species of the subfamily Sapindoideae within the soap tree family. This endemic occurs only on the Aldabra group .

Vegetative characteristics
Allophylus aldabricus is a shrub or small tree that grows to a height of meters. Of the three-fold, obovate leaves, the largest are up to 7 centimeters long.
Generative characteristics
The annual inflorescence contains sessile, tiny flowers. The bare, orange-red fruits when ripe are egg-shaped with a length of up to 6 millimeters.
Occurrence and habitat
Allophylus aldabricus occurs on the atolls Aldabra and Cosmoledo, which belong to the Aldabra group, as well as on the islands of Assomption and Astove . The species is part of the mixed inland bushland.
status
Due to the very small distribution area is Allophylus aldabricus by the IUCN as "endangered" category ( vulnerable ) classified. On Assomption, phosphate and guano were mined and the other islands were cleared to a certain extent for the creation of coconut palms and casuarina plantations .
