Almut Klotz (* 1962 in Pforzheim ; † August 15, 2013 in Hamburg ), from May 2013 Almut Klotz-Dabeler , was a German musician and author .

Life

Klotz grew up in the Black Forest and moved to Berlin- Kreuzberg in 1985 . There she moved around the Fischbüro and founded the band Lassie Singers in 1988 together with Christiane Rösinger and Funny van Dannen , which disbanded in 1998 after some successes. In the same year she founded the label Flittchen Records with Christiane Rösinger and together with Sandra Grether and Elmar Günther the band Parole Trixi , which she left shortly afterwards. Together with Maximilian Hecker and Jim Avignon she played for a short time in the band Maxi among people . In 2001 she founded the Popchor Berlin , which recorded choral cover versions of well-known pop songs, which were backed up with tracks newly arranged by DJs. She appeared together with Christian Dabeler as a pop duo; the first record was released in 2007 under the name Klotz + Dabeler .

Since 1997 Klotz has worked as a freelance writer, a. a. from 2001 to 2011 as a columnist for the Berliner Zeitung . In 2005, in collaboration with her partner Rev. Christian Dabeler, her first novel From the life of Manuel Zorn was published in the “Popliteratur series” published by Ventil Verlag . In May 2013 she married Dabeler in Hamburg. In 2016, the book “Fotzenfenderschweine” (named after Dabeler's exclamation) was published from the estate, in which she describes her love story with Dabeler. The book she worked on until her death has not been completed.

Almut Klotz died of cancer in August 2013. Their second album together with Reverend Dabeler, Let the Lady In , was released a week after their death. Her grave is in the Old St. Matthew Cemetery in Berlin. She left a son with Aaron.
