description

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe bosseri grows without a trunk or trunk-forming, and sprouts from the base. The trunks reach a length of up to 40 centimeters. The ten to 15 leaves , narrowed at their tips, form rosettes . The blue-green to yellowish green, finely lined leaf blade is 30 to 70 centimeters long and 4 centimeters wide. The leaf margin has a 1 millimeter wide, whitish or pink edge. The teeth on the leaf margin, which can also be missing, are 0.1 to 0.5 millimeters long and 0.5 to 1 millimeter apart. The leaf sheaths have a length of about 1 centimeter.

Inflorescences and flowers

The erect or ascending inflorescence is simple or consists of two to six branches. It reaches a length of 70 centimeters. The loose, cylindrical grapes are about 10 centimeters long and consist of 15 to 20 flowers. The ovate-pointed bracts are 2.5 to 3.5 millimeters long. The red, green-tipped flowers are on 12 to 15 millimeter long peduncles . Their inner corners are whitish. The flowers are 20 to 25 millimeters long. Above the ovary , the flowers have a diameter of 8 millimeters. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 16 to 21 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus barely protrude from the flower.

Systematics and distribution

Aloe bosseri is widespread in Madagascar on the limestone cliffs of the north bank of the gorge of the Manambolo River.

The first description by Jean-Bernard Castillon was published in 2000.
