description

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe brandhamii grows without a trunk, sprouts and forms dense clumps. The ascending trunk of old plants reaches a length of up to 1 meter. The lanceolate leaves form a dense rosette . The cloudy, dark green leaf blade often has a bronze-colored glow. It is 50 to 80 centimeters long and 10 to 20 centimeters wide. The leaf surface is smooth. The piercing, brown-tipped teeth on the leaf margin are 2 to 3 millimeters long and 10 to 20 millimeters apart. The leaf sap is dry yellow.

Inflorescences and flowers

The inflorescence has up to 25 branches and reaches a length of 1.5 to 2 meters. The lower branches are occasionally also branched. The loose grapes are 15 to 30 centimeters long and consist of single-sided flowers . The egg-shaped bracts have a length of 12 to 15 millimeters and are 5 to 7 millimeters wide. The coral-pink flowers are on 5 to 9 millimeter long flower stalks . They are tiny speckled white and lighter at their mouth. The flowers are 30 to 40 millimeters long and rounded at their base. At the level of the ovary , they have a diameter of 7 to 8 millimeters. They are hardly narrowed beyond that. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of about 10 to 13 millimeters. The stamens and the pen stand out 3 to 4 millimeters from the flower.
