Aloe brunneodentata is a species of aloes in the subfamily of the Affodilla family (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet brunneodentata is derived from the Latin words brevis for 'brunneus' and dentatus for 'toothed' and refers to brown marginal teeth on the leaves.

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe brunneodentata grows without a trunk and individually. The leaves form dense rosettes . The light bluish green leaf blade is 28 to 35 inches long and 7 inches wide. The brown teeth on the leaf margin are short. The leaf sap is brownish yellow.

Inflorescences and flowers

The inflorescence is simple or consists of one branch. It reaches a length of about 60 centimeters. The loose grapes are cylindrical. The bracts have a length of 12 to 15 millimeters and are 4 to 6 millimeters wide. The reddish, downy flowers are 24 to 26 millimeters (rarely up to 35 millimeters) long and rounded at their base. At the level of the ovary , the flowers are not narrowed. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of about 11 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus do not protrude from the flower.

Systematics and distribution

Aloe brunneodentata is distributed in Saudi Arabia in the province of Asir between Abha and Najran on granite at altitudes of about 1800 meters. The species is only known from the locality of the type.
