Vegetative characteristics

Aloe humbertii grows simply and without a stem or with a short stem. The triangular leaves form rosettes . The green leaf blade is 25 to 30 inches long and 5 to 6 inches wide. Its tip is rounded and serrated. The yellow teeth on the horny leaf margin are 3 to 6 millimeters apart.

Inflorescences and flowers

The inflorescence is simple or consists of one or two branches. It reaches a length of 35 to 40 centimeters (rarely up to 80 centimeters). The loose or dense grapes are 8 inches long. The lanceolate, short, finely pointed bracts have a length of 11 millimeters and are 5 millimeters wide. There are no flower stalks . The red or yellow and red tinged, cylindrical flowers are about 20 millimeters long. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 10 millimeters. The stamens and the stylus barely protrude from the flower.

Systematics and distribution

Aloe humbertii is common in the south of Madagascar on silicate rocks at altitudes of 1800 to 1979 meters. The species is only known from the collection of types.

The first description by Henri Perrier de La Bâthie was published in 1931.
