Aloe rebmannii is a plant of the genus Aloe in the subfamily of asphodeloideae (Asphodeloideae). The specific epithet rebmannii honors the French lecturer and aloe enthusiast Norbert Rebmann (* 1948).

Vegetative characteristics

Aloe rebmannii grows stemless or short stem-forming, branched and forms small clumps. The nine to twelve spread or ascending leaves are triangular with a pointed, curved tip. Their dark green, reddish tinged leaf blades are 9 to 12 inches long and 2 to 2.5 inches wide. There are many elongated pale spots on it. The rather firm, pointed, orange-brown teeth on the orange-colored, cartilaginous leaf margin are 1 to 1.5 millimeters long and are 2 to 5 millimeters apart.

Inflorescences and flowers

The simple inflorescence reaches a length of 45 to 65 centimeters. The loose grapes are up to 15 centimeters long. The bracts have a length of 4 to 7 millimeters and are 2 millimeters wide. The cylindrical, slightly curved, carmine-red flowers fade towards the mouth. They stand on 12 to 16 millimeter long, green flower stalks . The flowers are 22 millimeters long. At the level of the ovary , the flowers have a diameter of 5 millimeters. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 13 millimeters. The stamens protrude little and the pen does not protrude from the flower.

Systematics and distribution

Aloe rebmannii is distributed in Madagascar in the Toliara province at an altitude of about 550 meters.
