Alois Berla

Alois Berla , born in Alois Scheichl , (born March 7, 1826 in Vienna , Austrian Empire , † February 17, 1896 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary ) was an Austrian writer and actor.

Live and act

Berla received a musical education and became a singer. At the Theater an der Wien , he worked from 1848 as an actor. In the same year he wrote his first play The Last Braid , which premiered at the Deutsches Theater in Pest .

Berla became known as an author and arranger of popular folk plays and antics . He wrote more than 130 stage works and also libretti for the operetta , which were set to music by Franz von Suppè , Anton M. Storch , Carl Millöcker and Adolf Müller senior .

His son Anton Berla was known as a painter.
