Anton M. Storch

Anton M. Storch , for / also: Anton Michael Storch or Anton Maria Storch or Anton Monachus Storch or Anton Max Storch or Anton Martin Storch , (* December 23, 1813 in Vienna ; † December 31, 1887 ibid) was an Austrian composer and choir director.

Life

Storch received lessons from the music teacher Michael Eckel and studied at the Conservatory of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde (today University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna ).

Storch was the choirmaster of the Wiener Männergesang-Verein , the Liedertafel Frohsinn in Linz and the Niederösterreichischer Sängerbund, as well as the orchestra director at the Theater an der Wien and Theater in der Josefstadt .

His son Anton Storch (born December 25, 1843 , Vienna; † April 19, 1873 , Vienna) followed in his father's footsteps as Kapellmeister and composer.

The honorary grave of Anton M. Storch is located in the Central Cemetery (Group 0, number 1, number 11).
