Alois Kösters

Alois Bernd Kösters (born December 31, 1963 ) is a German journalist .

Kösters has been editor-in-chief of Volksstimme in Magdeburg since October 1, 2011 .

Life

Professional background

Alois Kösters studied German, philosophy and history at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Here he was already a freelancer for the Münsterschen Zeitung . After positions as a trainee and editor at the Rheiderland newspaper in Weener in East Frisia and as a project manager for the "Initiative Tageszeitung" in Bonn , he acted as the marketing editor and chief local editor of the Lausitzer Rundschau in Cottbus . From 2001, Alois Kösters was deputy editor-in-chief of the Lahn-Dill newspaper group in Wetzlar for seven years before he was appointed editor-in-chief in 2008. As editor-in-chief of the Magdeburger Volksstimme, Kösters replaced his long-time predecessor Franz Kadell (2001-2011).

Private

Alois Kösters has two children and lives with his wife Heike van Hoorn in Berlin.
