Alois Mráz (born September 8, 1978 in Pilsen , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech handball coach and a former handball player who is currently a coach at the Bundesliga club HSC 2000 Coburg .

Career

As a player

Mráz, who last played for the German club TV Hüttenberg in the 2nd Bundesliga and played for the Czech national team, was mostly used in the left backcourt . In addition, the 1.96 meter tall handball player was considered an all-rounder and was also used in the other back positions and as a circular runner.

Alois Mráz began playing handball in his hometown at Kovopetrol Pilsen, where he also made his debut in the Czech premier league. There he won the Czech championship in 1998 and 1999. In 2001 he moved to SG Solingen in the German Bundesliga. With the Rhinelander he was relegated in 2002, but recommended himself as top scorer of the 2nd Bundesliga South 2004 again for the House of Lords. In February 2005 he was signed by HSV Hamburg , but was seriously injured in the first game and was out for the rest of the season. Later he was only part of the Hamburg reserve, so that in 2006 he joined TuS N-Lübbecke . With the East Westphalia he only escaped relegation in the relegation against Bayer Dormagen ; he then moved to HSG Wetzlar in 2007 . For the 2012/13 season he moved to TV Hüttenberg. There he ended his active career in 2015.

Alois Mraz made 139 international appearances for the Czech national team. With the Czech Republic he took part in the European Championships in 2000 and 2002 . At the 2007 World Cup in Germany, he was in the extended squad. He was nominated again at the European Championships in Serbia in 2012 , but could not be used due to an injury. At the 2014 European Championships in Denmark, he ran on as a circle runner due to numerous failures.

As a trainer

Mraz has the German A coaching license and from 2008 to 2014 coached the women's team at HSG Dutenhofen / Münchholzhausen , with which he made it to the 3rd League West in 2013. From 2014 to 2016 he was the coach of the A-Jugend of the TV Hüttenberg in the youth handball league. In January 2016 he took over the U23 team at TV Hüttenberg in a double role. With this he rose to the top division (4th division) in 2017.

From 2015 he also acted as assistant coach of the first men's team. In 2018 Mráz moved to VfL Gummersbach , where he coached the A-youth. For the 2020/21 season he took over the Bundesliga club HSC 2000 Coburg .
