Alois Toduschek

Alois Toduschek (also Alois Totuschek ; born February 2, 1885 in Nové Město na Moravě , † after 1914) was an Austrian wrestler .

As was common in Europe at the time, Alois Toduschek started exclusively in the Greco-Roman style and, apart from the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, only competed in tournaments in his hometown of Vienna .

At the Wrestling World Championships in 1908 , he won the silver medal in the weight class up to 75 kg behind his compatriot Robert Dirry . A year later at the World Championships in 1909 he was able to push Robert Dirry to second place and became world champion. At the Unofficial Wrestling World Championships in 1910 , Alois Toduschek again won the weight class up to 75 kg before Robert Dirry. The Unofficial World Championships in 1911 took place at four different locations, at the competitions in Vienna Alois Toduschek came fourth in the category up to 85 kg. With a second place at the Olympic qualification tournament in Vienna behind Peter Kokotowitsch , Toduschek qualified for the 1912 Summer Olympics . There, however, after defeats against the later Olympic champion Claes Johansson from Sweden and against Emil Westerlund from Finland, he retired early. Alois Toduschek's last tournament was the Unofficial European Wrestling Championships in 1914 , where he finished second in the class up to 82.5 kg behind Ivar Böhling from Finland.
