Alon Day (2010)

Alon Day ( Hebrew אלון דאי; * November 4, 1991 in Ashdod ) is an Israeli - French racing car driver .

Career

Day began his motorsport career in karting at the age of ten. In 2007 Day switched to formula racing and was 18th in the Hungarian E-2000 championship. In 2008 he stayed in that series and improved to sixth place. He also took part in two races of the Asian Formula Renault Challenge for the Asia Racing Team . In 2009 Day competed for several teams in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge. He won four races and only failed to finish on the podium in one race. With 293 to 287 points, he won the championship against Luís Sá Silva . In addition, in 2008 and 2009, the Pacific Formula BMW started as a guest entrant each .

In 2010 , Day switched to Performance Racing in the German Formula 3 Cup . While his team mate Felix Rosenqvist finished fifth with 83 points, Day finished the season with two fourth places as the best results with 26 points in ninth place overall. In 2011 , Day stayed in the German Formula 3 Cup and switched to HS Engineering . With two third places as the best results, he finished the season in fourth place overall. He also started two races in the Austrian Formula 3 , which he won both. Day also made guest starts in the Formula 3 Euro Series .

In 2012 Day left Europe and switched to Belardi Auto Racing in the North American Indy Lights . He became the first Israeli to take part in a motor sport race in the United States . Day got out of the series after the seventh of twelve races. He was twelfth in the drivers' championship. He then returned to Europe and competed in the second half of the German Formula 3 Cup for ADM Motorsport and EuroInternational . With two third places as the best results, he was eleventh in the overall classification.
