The Alpbachtal is a valley in the Kitzbühel Alps . It is a side valley of the Inn Valley .

The Alpbachtal gets its name from the Alpbach , which flows through the entire valley. The valley entrance is the municipality of Brixlegg . A road that connects Alpbach with Brixlegg leads through the whole valley to the village of Inneralpbach. The neighboring valleys of the Alpbach valley are the Zillertal and Wildschönau .

The main source of income is tourism in both summer and winter. There is a larger ski area in the Alpbachtal on the south side of the Wiedersberger Horn with two gondola lifts and 15 lifts. On December 7th, 2012, when a third gondola lift went into operation, a lift / slope connection to Wildschönau was created. This created a large ski network under the name Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau , which is one of the top ten Tyrolean ski areas. A smaller ski area with a gondola and four lifts is located at the entrance to the village in the municipality of Reith im Alpbachtal . In the other areas, skiing is only served from the other valleys. In summer the valley is known as a hiking valley. There are several alpine pastures.

In Alpbach annual finds the European Forum Alpbach instead.

There are two communities in the valley : Reith im Alpbachtal and Alpbach . The village of Inneralpbach forms the end of the valley .
