The Sonnenjoch is a mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in Tyrol . The summit has a height of 2292  m above sea level. A.

The Sonnenjoch (also Sonnjoch) lies between Alpbachtal , Wildschönau , Kelchsau and the Zillertal Märzengrund . The summit borders three Tyrolean districts ( Kitzbühel , Kufstein , Schwaz ) and five municipal borders meet here ( Alpbach , Hart im Zillertal , Hopfgarten im Brixental , Stummerberg and Wildschönau).

The Sonnenjoch is less frequented compared to its northern neighbor summit, the Großer Beil . The most popular ascent variant runs from the Schönangeralm in the Wildschönau over the Kastensteig (waterfalls), on to the Gressenalm and from there to the summit of the Sonnenjoch.

In winter this mountain is a popular ski touring summit .
