Alphonse Poaty-Souchlaty

Alphonse Poaty-Souchlaty (born March 25, 1941 in Kouilou , French Equatorial Africa , today: Republic of the Congo ) is a Congolese writer and politician of the Parti Congolais du Travail (PCT), who was Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo between 1989 and 1990 .

Life

Poaty-Souchlaty was a member of the Parti Congolais du Travail (PCT) founded in 1969 and served as Finance Minister in the government of Prime Minister Louis Sylvain Goma from 1975 to 1977 . During the tenure of Prime Minister Ange Édouard Poungui, he held the post of Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises from August 7, 1984 to August 7, 1989. He was also Minister of Commerce between 1986 and 1989.

On August 7, 1989, Poaty-Souchlaty finally replaced Poungui as Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo and held this office until December 3, 1990, whereupon Pierre Moussa took over the post of Prime Minister on a temporary basis.
