At the 1st Alpine World Ski Championships in Mürren in Switzerland in 1931 , an Alpine Combined competition for women consisting of slalom and downhill was held. This took place from 19th bis 20th February 1931 held at the Wintereggstrecke.

Due to the shortened descent due to the weather conditions, the competition was not officially rated by the FIS. The 17-year-old Englishwoman Esmé MacKinnon would have become the first world champion in the Alpine Combined .

Each nation was allowed to name six skiers for the competition.
