Annemarie Herwarth von Bittenfeld-Honigmann (née Honigmann ; * October 2, 1905 ; † November 12, 1982 ) was a German ski racer .
Private
Annemarie Honigmann was the first wife of the German civil servant and diplomat Hans-Heinrich Herwarth von Bittenfeld . In 1935 he married his second wife Elisabeth von Redwitz, with whom he later lived in Küps .
In newspaper reports on the ski races there are indications that she may have lived in Munich and Partenkirchen or came from one of the cities.
Success in skiing
In 1929 she finished tenth in the Alpine Combined at the Arlberg-Kandahar races in St. Anton am Arlberg . The winner of this race was Audrey Sale-Barker from England .
In the following year, after a fourth place in the slalom and a third place in the downhill with third place in the alpine combination behind Inge Lantschner from Austria and the Englishwoman Nell Caroll , she again achieved a top place in St. Anton . At the club level, she was a member of the Arlberg Ski Club at that time .
At the FIS races in Mürren in 1931, which today count as the first alpine ski world championships, she finished 17th on the downhill run on the Winteregg route, 13th in slalom and sixteenth final place in the alpine combination. In the long descent from Grütsch to Lauterbrunnen , she had to end the race early.
In Cortina d'Ampezzo she reached 21st place in slalom and downhill and 22nd place in the Alpine Combined at the Alpine World Ski Championships. In the downhill race she achieved third place for Germany in the newly introduced team classification with Mädi Schmidt , Lisa Resch and Annemarie Kopp and also third in the Alpine Combination with the aforementioned and Grete Matousek . In the slalom, the German team only reached fourth place behind Great Britain, Austria and Switzerland .
