The Alplesspitze , also known as the Great Alplesspitze , is 3149 m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Panargenkamm in the Venediger group . The summit is located in the northwest of East Tyrol and is the second highest point of the Panargen ridge. The Alplesspitze was first climbed on July 13, 1896 by Ludwig Purtscheller and Josef Erlsbacher via the southern ascent.

The Alplesspitze is located in the municipality of St. Jakob in Defereggen and consists of the north-west summit ( 3112 m above sea level ), the middle or main summit ( 3149 m above sea level ) and the east summit (also known as the Kleine Alplesspitze , 3067 m above sea level). A. ). To the south-east are the West Erlsbacher Spitze ( 3035 m above sea level ), Eastern Erlsbacher Spitze ( 3015 m above sea level ) and Seespitze ( 3021 m above sea level ), in the northwest the Panargenscharte ( 2891 m above sea level ) separates them . the Alplesspitze from Ostgipfel of Keeseggs ( 3088 m above sea level. A. ). The wide north face of the Alplesspitze slopes down into the Trojeralmtal . The southwest ridge of the Alplesspitze runs over the Panargenlenke ( 2769 m above sea level ) and the ridge head to the Hutnerscharte ( 2770 m above sea level ) and on to the Hutnerspitze ( 2855 m above sea level ) into the Schwarzachtal. In the south are the Alplesseen, in the southwest of the Großbachsee.
Promotion opportunities
The normal route to the Alplesspitze leads from the Alpengasthaus Oberhaus via the Oberhausalmhütte uphill to the Ochsenhof and then further along the Großbach. Through a gully that is bounded by the southwest ridge of the northwest summit and the southwest ridge of the main summit, the climb finally leads over the uppermost notch of the southwest ridge of the Alplesspitze to the main summit. ( II ). Alternatively, there is the ascent via the southwest ridge from the Panargenlenke ( II ) or via Erlsbach and the Upper Alplessee ( II ). More difficult variants are the ascent of the north-west ridge from the Panargenscharte ( III + ) or the ascent of the north-east face from the Trojer Almtal ( III ).
