geography

course

The Alsmicke rises in a meadow southeast of the Fahrenschotten settlement at approx. 394 m above sea level. NHN . From there it flows in an easterly direction, flows through various fish ponds, crosses under the L512 and flows into the Biggesee at 307 m above sea level about 1 km south of Eichhagen . With the exception of a small area around its mouth, its course lies entirely in the Alsmicketal nature reserve with hillside forests , a 27.98 hectare nature reserve .

While the last part of the stream bed is now flooded by the water masses of the reservoir or the Olper pre-storage basin when it is fully flooded, the Alsmicke used to flow 38 m further until it flowed into the Bigge.

  • Ortsiepen (right), 0.12 km
