The French SNCF purchased a total of 211 of these trains from 2000. Of these, 145 vehicles belong to the three-part Z24500 series. The 42 four and 24 five-part units are grouped together under the designation Z26500. These trains are operated by SNCF through the TER, which is responsible for local traffic, in the regions of Nord-Pas-de-Calais , Lorraine , Pays de la Loire , Rhône-Alpes , Center , Picardie , Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Haute -Normandy operated. They are between 107.5 m and 133.9 m long and approved for 160 km / h. The units are designed as two-system multiple units for operation with the two contact wire voltages customary in France of 1.5 kV direct current and 25 kV alternating voltage with 50 Hz.

CFL 2200

The Luxembourg CFL has owned 22 Coradia Duplex since June 2004. These trains are identical to the TER 2N NG trains operated by SNCF.

The order for 113 vehicles of the X40 series for the SJ was placed on January 10, 2001. Commissioning began in 2004. In addition to the delivery, Alstom also contractually took over the maintenance of the vehicles.
