TER Center-Val de Loire
TER Center-Val de Loire is the operator of local rail passenger transport in the six departments Cher (18) , Eure-et-Loir (28) , Indre (36) , Indre-et-Loire (37) , Loir-et-Cher (41) and Loiret (45) . Like the other TER organizations in France, it is co-financed by the regional government and operated by the SNCF state railway.
With 22 million passengers annually, this regional transport service provider has developed into the third largest TER operation in France since 1998. On working days, an average of 85,000 passengers use the regional trains. That is three times as many passengers as when the cooperation was introduced. 90.5% of the trains were on time in 2007 , i. H. no more than six minutes late.
With 39,150 km² the area corresponds to approx. 7% of France, 2.5 million inhabitants of this region make up only 4% of the national population. This discrepancy is caused by low urbanization and may affect the population. a. on the low density of train stations: each of the 160 train stations has to cover an area of 245 km² on average. In a comparison of regions in France, this number is far below the mean.
In addition to the 1,600 km of track (of a total of 1,850 km - not including a pure TGV route), there are also 400 km of road with a bus connection by a bus company connected to the TER Center-Val de Loire. With 380 regional trains on 31 lines, 13.6 million train kilometers come up every year.
In 2007, the cooperation between the SNCF and the regional administration was extended for the first time for a further eight years until 2013. Two thirds of the funding comes from the regional administration and amounts to 164 million euros as of 2007. The budget increases annually by 4.5 million euros due to the expected increase in costs . In order to comply with the concluded contracts, a bonus-malus system was agreed, 60% of which is based on the punctuality of the trains. 40% relate to other criteria, which are summarized in an extensive catalog of grievances (Appendix 4 of the contract text, see above) and there in the groups "Station class A", "Station class B", "Trains", "Bus stops", "Buses" "," Information "and" Information in special cases "(meaning train cancellations, construction sites and the like). These conditions range from the availability of parking spaces for cars and bicycles, the cleanliness / safety of the train station including the removal of graffiti to the correct affixing of the SNCF logo .
Since 1994, 32.5 million euros (17.4 of which were financed by the region) have been invested in the renovation of the stations. 135 of the 160 train stations are up-to-date , 33 are barrier-free .
