Altenkreith
Altenkreith (formerly also known as Oedenkreuth or Altenkreuth ) is a district of the Upper Palatinate town of Roding in the Cham district in Bavaria .
history
Landsassengut Altenkreith
In the Bamberg fief book from 1306 this property is mentioned for the first time under the bona in reut prope Rottingen . In 1401 an Agnes die Härtlin waived her claims to the property at Geräwt . In 1445 Leonhard the Chadolsdorfer zu Wetterfeld sold his estate in Oedengereuth to Andre Loher, a citizen of Roding.
In 1540 the estate was owned by Ruprecht von Sparnberg, who at that time had sold his Regenpeilstein Castle to Jobst von Dandorf. The Sparnberger built a new residence here. He was followed by his cousin Lorenz von Sparnberg, Lord of the Arms of Waffenbrunn . In 1576 he offered the estate to Adam von Freudenberg for purchase. In 1605 the property was turned into a country estate , and under Ludwig Kreut, who had acquired it that year by purchase, it was raised to a country mess. Since the latter was not aristocratic , however, he had to pay the elector Friedrich V a "Landsassenabtrag" in the amount of 400 guilders and he had to commit himself and his heirs to serve the elector with a traveling horse in the event of war . After his death († 1615), the country estate was held by his widow. This brought it to Hilarius Katzbeck by remarrying, who on January 29, 1617 in Amberg gave up his compulsory Landsassassen. After Katzbeck's death († December 15, 1619), his widow sold the estate to Captain Georg Schindlern in 1622 because of existing debts, whom she then married. From this the estate came to Jeremias Poyßl von Loifling (1628). He converted on August 8, 1629 with his wife and was able to pay homage in 1652. His widow and heirs handed the estate over to Hans Melchior Schrenck von Notzing , Lieutenant of Waldmünchen, on September 23, 1667 . He was followed in 1694 by Johann Rudolf Schrenck von Notzing. This sold Altenkreith in September 1694 to Heinrich von Plettenberg , who was already in possession of Strahlfeld and who combined the two properties. Since then, the story of both goods has been the same. Plettenberg also rebuilt the castle buildings that were ruined in the Thirty Years' War .
According to the house hearth description from 1762, the castle and a courtyard building are mentioned in Altenkreith. The castle was uninhabited at the time. The buildings are also mentioned in the trade tax register from 1810.
There was a chapel on the north side of the castle, which was profaned around 1867 and converted into a barn by breaking off the vault. The castle of the Landsassengut Altenkreith was demolished in 1964 because of a new apartment building. In 1978 Altenkreith was incorporated into Roding.
