The house Altetopfstraße 7 is a listed half-timbered building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . It was built in 1520/1521.

location

The building is located south of the historic Quedlinburg old town, on the south side of Altetopfstrasse. The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Altetopfstraße 8 to the west. The house is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a residential building and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

Architecture and history

The eaves, two-storey half - timbered house is seven compartments wide and was built in the late Gothic style. The barrel of the sandstone cellar is dated to " 1520 " by an inscription . The upper floor cantilevers well. As decorative elements can be found with carvings provided Bügen and anklets. There is a large gateway in the eastern half of the house. The roof structure is dendrochronologically dated to the year 1521. In older literature, the period around 1550 was assumed to be the time of construction.
