to Berlin

The railway Hoppe Garden Altlandsberg Association from 1898 to 1965, the small town of Altlandsberg in today's district Oderland on the eastern edge of Berlin with the main railway line Berlin-Küstrin , a part of the 1867 opened Prussian Eastern Railway .

history

The Altlandsberger Kleinbahn AG was founded on July 1, 1898th On October 4, 1898, it opened a six-kilometer, standard-gauge small railway from Alt-Landsberg (as it was spelled at the time) to Hoppegarten station on the Ostbahn. The company initially ran the company Philipp Balke & Co. , which had built the railway, then from 1900 onwards the Allgemeine Deutsche Kleinbahn-Gesellschaft . In 1927 the Brandenburg State Transport Authority took over this task.

Although the passenger traffic with ten to twelve daily train pairs was quite heavy, the operating results were by no means satisfactory, so that even before the Second World War in 1939 the switch to bus operation was considered. 58 percent of the shares belonged to the city of Altlandsberg at the time, the rest was split between the Prussian state , the province of Brandenburg and the Niederbarnim district .

After the occupation by Soviet troops, the railway was

  • on October 1, 1946 transferred to the general management of the Provincial Railways Mark Brandenburg
  • Forwarded on October 19, 1946 to the General Management of the Brandenburg State Railways in Potsdam,
  • on July 1, 1948 transferred to the VVB Landesbahnen Brandenburg,
  • on April 1, 1949 incorporated into the Deutsche Reichsbahn.

This operated passenger traffic until May 29, 1965. Freight traffic to Altlandsberg was discontinued soon afterwards and the line was removed from the Neuenhagen substation to Altlandsberg station. Until 2003, the remaining route was used by the substation to transport transformers . After that, due to the expansion of the federal motorway 10 , the connection to the substation was also dismantled. Since June 2007, the tracks of the small train station have also been completely dismantled.
