Starý Pařezov (German Altparisau , also Alt Parisau ) is a historical part of the municipality of Otov (German Wottawa ) and today's part of the municipality of Pařezov in Okres Domažlice in West Bohemia in the Czech Republic .

Altparisau is about twelve kilometers east of the Bavarian border, on the northwest slope of a two-kilometer long ridge, the Parisauer Berg (Czech Pařezovský vrch ). Since the two villages Alt- and Neuparisau were very close to each other, they practically formed just one village. Before Neuparisau was founded, only the name Parisau was in use for Altparisau .
history
Altparisau is first handed down in 1539. In 1839 the place had 18 houses and 125 inhabitants, in 1913 22 houses and 159 inhabitants and in 1945 148 inhabitants. The houses in the village were built in two rows, about 300 meters long.
Altparisau was parish after Metzling . The children went to school in Wottawa. It was not until 1914 that a local school was established, initially with one and later with two classes.
As a rule, the families could not support themselves from agriculture. That is why the farmers still worked as bricklayers and carpenters mostly in Bavaria.
After the abolition of patrimonial Otov formed from 1850 with the districts of Alt Parisau and New Parisau a municipality in the judicial district of Bischofteinitz . Since 1869 the community belonged to the district Bischofteinitz .
After the Munich Agreement in September 1938, Wottawa was added to the German Reich and belonged to the Bischofteinitz district until 1945 .
In 1990 Neuparisau (Czech Nový Pařezov ) and Altparisau (Czech Starý Pařezov ) merged to form the municipality of Pařezov . On March 3, 1991, the place had 31 residents; In the 2001 census, there were 52 people in Starý Pařezov's 23 houses.
