Meclov (German Metzling ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers west of Horšovský Týn and belongs to the Okres Domažlice .
geography
Meclov is located in the valley of the Černý potok in the Chodská pahorkatina.
The road II / 196 between Mračnice and Poběžovice and the railway line Staňkov – Poběžovice lead through the village . Road I / 26 runs southeast from Horšovský Týn to Furth im Wald .
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1115 as the property of the Kladruby monastery . At the transition from the 13th to the 14th century, eight families from the Landau an der Isar area settled in Meclov in the course of colonization . The village remained in the monastery until 1313, after which it belonged to the Vladiken Racek von Prostiboř . In 1379 the Meclov manor was added to the Poběžovice estate .
After the abolition of patrimonial Metzling formed from 1850 a community in the Pilsener Kreis and judicial district Bischofteinitz . Since 1869 the community belonged to the district Bischofteinitz . In 1900, the Stankau – Bischofteinitz – Ronsperg local railway started operating . In 1920 the community of Metzling had 733, mostly German-speaking inhabitants. In 1930 there were 773 people living in the village.
After the Munich Agreement , Metzling was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Bischofteinitz district . In 1939 the community had 730 inhabitants.
After the end of the Second World War, 559 Germans were expelled from Meclov and Czechs from the interior and repatriates from Volhynia were settled. Since 1960 the municipality of Meclov belongs to the Okres Domažlice . Březí, Mračnice and Mašovice were incorporated in 1961. In 1980 Třebnice was incorporated (with Bozdíš, Mrchojedy, Němčice and Jeníkovice ).

The municipality Meclov consists of the districts and Katastralbezirken Bozdíš ( Wostirschen ) Březí ( Pirk ), Jeníkovice ( Ding Kowitz ) Mašovice ( Maschowitz ) Meclov ( Metz Ling ), Mračnice ( Raschnitz ) Mrchojedy ( Murchowa ) Němčice ( Nemtschitz ) and Třebnice ( Trebnitz ). Meclov also includes the one-layer Dolní Baldov ( Waldowa ).
