Chocomyšl (German Kotzomischl , also Chotzomischl ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 15 kilometers east of Domažlice and belongs to the Okres Domažlice .
geography
Chocomyšl is located in the valley of the Merklínka brook , which is dammed in the southern part of the village in the Chocomyšlský rybník pond. The Radlice (603 m) rises to the north and Na Kamejkách (615 m) to the south. Road II / 185 between Koloveč and Klatovy runs through the village .
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1365. In the second half of the 18th century, Counts Czernin von und zu Chudenitz had the old fortress Chocomyšl transformed into a baroque hunting lodge by Franz Maximilian Kaňka .
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Chotzomischl / Chocomyšl 1850 with the hamlet Kaničky a municipality in the judicial district Klatovy. From 1868 the community belonged to the Klattau district . Kaničky became independent in 1948. In 1960 the municipality Chocomyšl was reclassified from Okres Klatovy to Okres Domažlice . Between 1980 and 1990 Chocomyšl was incorporated into Koloveč .
Attractions
- Statue of St. John of Nepomuk on the village square, created in 1708
- Former hunting lodge Chocomyšl, it was built between 1761 and 1763 according to plans by Franz Maximilian Kaňka and was later converted into a sugar factory
