There was a Chodian control room on St. Lorenziberg. The village was on an old trade route leading from Taus to Bavaria. In 1767, residents of Stráž took part in the Second Chod Uprising. The village was parish after Taus. In 1790 a branch school was set up in the village. Until the middle of the 19th century, Hochwarth was subject to the rule of Kauth .
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Straz / Hochwarth 1850 a district of the municipality Nevolice in the judicial district Taus. From 1868 the village belonged to the Taus district . In 1889, Stráž broke away from Nevolice and formed its own municipality. In 1905 the road through the village was built, in 1919 the road to Tlumačov and in 1927 the district road to Pasečnice. In 1930, 366 people lived in the 65 houses in Stráž. In 1961 Pelechy and Šnory were reassigned from Tlumačov to Stráž. After Pelechy had formed its own municipality on November 24, 1990, the uninhabited district of Šnory became an exclave between the municipalities of Pelechy, Česká Kubice and Pasečnice .
