Spáňov (German Spanow , formerly Spaniow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers southeast of Domažlice and belongs to the Okres Domažlice .

geography

Spáňov is located in the Kdyňská brázda . In the east rise the Bílka (453 m), the Slupný (601 m) and the Rýzmberk (680 m), southeast of the Klepný (556 m). To the east lies the Novodvorský rybník pond. The Janovice nad Úhlavou – Domažlice railway runs through the village, while the road I / 22 between Domažlice and Klatovy runs on the northeastern edge of the village .

Neighboring towns are Sedlice and Zahořany in the north, Levcův Mlyn, Stanětice and Oprechtice in the Northeast, Novy Dvur and Starý Dvůr in the east, Kout na Šumavě and Starec in the southeast, Bělohrad, Štítovky and Nový Klíčov in the south, Stary Klíčov in the southwest, Mrákov , Stráž , Nevolice and Smolov in the west and Domažlice and Bořice in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1372 as the seat of Vladiken Sudivoj von Spáňov. The subsequent owners included Otík from Tisová and the Spaňovský from Lisov. In the 15th century the town of Taus bought the village. Because of the participation in the uprising against the Habsburgs, the city's goods were confiscated by King Ferdinand I in 1547. After that the estate belonged to the Bohemian Chamber and at the end of the 16th century to the Riesenberg domain , until the town was reacquired. Spáňov was parish to the parish church of the Annunciation in the lower suburb of Taus. In the berní rula from 1654 eight farmers, two chalupners, a gardener and a shepherd are shown for Spáňov. In the middle of the 18th century the village consisted of 16 properties. School lessons took place from 1794 in the branch parish school founded by Johann Philipp von Stadion in Kauth . In 1839 there were 232 people living in Spáňov. Until the middle of the 19th century Spáňov remained a thousand council village.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Španov / Spanow 1850 with the hamlet Smolov / Smolov a municipality in the judicial district Taus. From 1868 the municipality belonged to the Taus district . In the course of the construction of the railway from Taus to Brno , the place received a stop in 1888. The form of the name Spáňov has been in use since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1900, 209 people lived in the 39 houses of Spáňov. The road to Mrákov was built in 1912. In 1961 Smolov was reassigned to Mrákov . Between 1985 and 1990 Spáňov belonged to Kout na Šumavě as a district .

  • Gloriette hat of Cardinal Cesarini to commemorate the Battle of Taus , erected in 1723 by the Kauth rulers on the place where, according to legend, the cardinal lost his hat. In 1824 it was renewed by Johann Philipp von Stadion , southeast of the village on the way to Kout Castle.
