Velký Malahov (German Großmallowa ) is a municipality with 263 inhabitants in Okres Domažlice in the Czech Republic. It is located in western Bohemia east of the Sedmihoří (Seven Mountains) and 13 km northwest of Holýšov . The Hořina rises in the pond in the village square of Velký Malahov .
history
The village of Großmallowa was first mentioned in 1379. The place was parish after Hochsemlowitz , in 1889 the consecration of a separate church took place as a branch church . In 1904 a school house was built and in 1940 a volunteer fire brigade was founded.
After the Munich Agreement , Großmallowa was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Bischofteinitz district until 1945 .
After the Second World War , the German residents were expelled.

The municipality of Velký Malahov consists of the districts and cadastral districts Jivjany ( Gibian ), Ostromeč ( water trumpets) and Velký Malahov.
