Libkov (German Lipkau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers west of Klatovy and belongs to the Okres Domažlice .
geography
Libkov is located in the Neugedeiner furrow between the Upper Palatinate and the Bohemian Forest . The place lies between the hills Černá skála (731 m), Svatá Marketa (642 m) and Libkov (599 m) in the headwaters of the Poleňka. State road 22 between Klatovy and Domažlice runs through Libkov , as well as the railway connection between the aforementioned towns to the west of the town, where the nearest train stop is in Loučim .
Neighboring towns are Úsilov in the north, Slavíkovice, Nevděk and Nová Víska in the northeast, Dlažov in the east, Miletice and Běhařov in the southeast, Pocinovice in the south, Výrov and Chodská Lhota in the southwest, Loučim in the west and Modlín in the northwest.
history
Libkov was first mentioned in a document in 1379. The village was the seat of Vladiken Přibyslav at that time . After his death, the widow sold the property to neighboring Vladiken. Libkov was burned down during the Bohemian-Bavarian border war.
A free courtyard was later built on the terrain of the desert, from which a noble residence emerged. A new village was founded around this.
