history

After 1768, on the slopes belonging to the allodial rule of Kauth, on the edge of the forest of the Českokubická vrchovina, a few single-layer farms were built. The scattered settlement Na Pelechinach was first mentioned in writing in 1789.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Pelechny / Bernloch 1850 a district of the municipality Tlumačov in the judicial district Taus. From 1868 the settlement belonged to the Taus district . In 1869, 135 mostly Czech-speaking people lived in the 20 houses in Pelechny . In 1880 the place had 148 inhabitants, ten years later there were 211. The new settlers included many German Bohemians . In 1884 a German-speaking school was opened in Philippsberg . To prevent further Germanization, the Ústřední matice školská established a Czech school in Pelechny in 1885, in which 62 children from Pelechny, Filipova Hora / Philippsberg and Mlýneček / Stallung were taught in the founding year. In the 1921 census, 177 people lived in the 32 houses in the village. The current form of the name Pelechy was introduced in 1923. In 1936 the volunteer fire brigade was founded. After the Munich Agreement , Pelechen was separated from Tlumačov and added to the German Empire as a district of Neumark . Between 1939 and 1945 the village belonged to the district of Markt Eisenstein . After the end of the Second World War, Pelechy came back to Czechoslovakia and again became part of the municipality of Tlumačov. Most of the German residents were expelled. In 1950 Pelechy consisted of 44 houses and 101 residents. In 1961 the district was changed to Stráž . The school closed in 1965. In the same year the road to Pasečnice was built and the bus service between Tlumačov and Babylon was started. Since November 24, 1990, Pelechy has formed its own municipality. At the beginning of 2012, Šnory, which until then had been part of Stráž as an exclave, was reclassified to Pelechy. The former school is now the seat of the municipal office.
